In this episode, I am joined by founder and CEO of Purely Elizabeth, Elizabeth Stein. Born out of her search to find nutritious products at the grocery store, she set out to develop her own nutrient-dense line of delicious granola, oatmeal, and more. We dive into why she specifically chose each ingredient, and the benefits of probiotics, fiber, and oats for your gut. On the flip side, we learn what foods to avoid at all costs when it comes to facilitating a happy, healthy gut microbiome. Plus, we get an insider's look at starting a business and what you can do if you also feel the entrepreneurial tug.

Fifteen years ago while studying holistic nutrition, Elizabeth learned about the powerful effect that nutritious food has on the body. But, when she looked at grocery shelves, the options were limited for nourishing foods that people would actually enjoy. So she set out to create products that didn't have a trade off between nutritious ingredients and culinary taste to help people thrive on their wellness journey.

Purely Elizabeth products are Certified Gluten-Free with select products also Non-GMO Project Verified, Certified Vegan, and Certified Paleo + Keto by the Paleo Foundation. All products contain no artificial flavors and are made with organic, innovative, nutritious ingredients that add delicious flavor and texture, like Ancient Grains + Superfood Seeds (Quinoa, Amaranth, Chia, and Flax), Coconut Sugar, and Coconut Oil.

A few of my favorite things we cover this episode:

  • Why it’s important to include fiber in your diet and its role it in your gut microbiome health
  • How you can avoid adding foods made with refined sugars in your nutrition
  • An entrepreneurial perspective on how to get your product or idea “ahead of the curve”
  • A look into including oats in your diet and if they’re optimal for your health
