In this week's episode, I sit down with my good friend and TMAC Fitness founder, Todd McCullough. After years of experience from building a recognized fitness brand, he has seen what works and what doesn't when it comes to moving your body. From strength training, staying consistent, to cold water therapy, we leave nothing unsaid as we uncover the best practices to achieve results. He even leaves us some wisdom on why meditation and spirituality go hand-in-hand with your workouts. So grab your airpods and tune in - this is the perfect episode to listen to while getting in your daily movement!

Born in the rural south, Todd attended University of Florida, where he was a starting football player. Like many athletes, he suffered numerous injuries. He had a career in finance at Merrill Lynch, and was laid off during the financial crisis of 2008.

Todd knew it was time for a new direction. His football injuries led him to a yoga studio, where he discovered a way to move with his physical restrictions. This led Todd to merge his new passion for yoga with athletic training — and TMAC FITNESS was born. It began as a personal training business, where Todd trained thousands of clients, including Olympic athletes and celebrity artists. Eventually, it was time to scale.

Now, TMAC FITNESS is an online membership-based company that provides short, fast, and effective workouts — with a strong emphasis on mindfulness. Todd's signature online program, TMAC 20, has helped more than 20,000 people get in shape and get their mind right from home.

A few of my favorite things we cover this episode:

  • The restorative benefits and differences between both yoga and other forms of strength exercise training
  • The regenerative results of ending a workout with a mindfulness practice and the connection this activity has with living and developing a purposeful life
  • A look into what your overarching fitness goals may look like, and the importance of remaining accountable and consistent when aiming to improve your health
  • How emerging and bathing in cold water can help to eradicate your stressors and provide energizing boosts to your body throughout the day
