I have never felt so seen and heard at any doctor appointment I’ve had in 32 years of life.

In 2012, following a trip to Central America, I came home with a myriad of strange symptoms. Countless western medicine doctor appointments with countless specialists left me with zero answers — only confusion, frustration, and a strong feeling of having been gaslit time and time again. (And I do not use the term “gaslit” lightly — it is only a term I have associated with my experience with western medicine).

During my intake appointment with Andrea, I felt completely safe and trusting that I could fully share everything without worrying about being judged, shamed, or told that what I was experiencing wasn’t possible. She acknowledged everything I shared, validated it, and reassured me she would test for everything I’ve always wondered about. She even took note of PTSD I’ve had from western medicine appointments to ensure that when she read me my results in a coming appointment, that I wouldn’t experience any anxiety as I have in the past.

Sure enough, for the first time in over a decade, I felt no anxiety having test results read to me. I simply felt pure relief and excitement to have actual answers and a clear path forward to tackle everything! Andrea, I am forever so grateful for you!

Andrea was just as amazing working with my fiancé who I also convinced to have an appointment as I’m on a mission to optimize our health, and my mom had an appointment with Emily. My mom was very nervous for her appointment, and Emily was so incredibly sweet and kind to my mom. Emily, we really cannot thank you enough for your gentle kindness!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention Nicole from the front desk. Nicole is so incredibly kind and has such a wonderful warmth about her from the second she answers the phone. She was also empathetic when there was a miscommunication from the team, and her kindness and understanding of the frustration that came from that was truly so appreciated. Thanks so much, Nicole!
