In this episode, Dr. Will Cole is joined by podcast host and CEO of Yoga Girl®, Rachel Brathen. After being faced with chronic mold toxicity, Rachel set out to transform her health from the inside-out. Through her experience of leaving years of veganism behind, she shows us that it is possible to eat meat ethically and sustainably and why connecting to our ancestry can be transformative to our mental and physical health. We also dive into the many cons of social media and why boundaries may not actually work for everyone in the long run.
Rachel is a Swedish-native, New York Times best-selling author, non-profit founder, serial entrepreneur, and an international yoga teacher. She's also the founder and CEO of Yoga Girl®, and the host of two #1 podcast shows, Conversations From The Heart (from January 6, 2023: From The Heart with Rachel Brathen) and Yoga Girl Daily (from January 6, 2023: The Daily Practice).
With over 2 million followers on social media, 15 years of professional experience, and a global audience in over 170 countries, Rachel has been featured in Women's Health, Yoga Journal, The New York Times, Forbes, Tedx Talks, and more. Giving back to the community has always been at the center of all of Rachel’s initiatives. She’s founded two non-profit organizations: Sgt. Pepper’s Friends; an animal rescue foundation based in Aruba, and Yoga Girl® Foundation, an organization benefiting women and children in need. In 2017, Rachel and her husband Dennis also opened Island Yoga - the largest yoga studio in the Caribbean, where they’ve hosted yoga teacher training, retreats, workshops, and year-round classes.
Along with these initiatives, Rachel is the founder of one of the first online yoga platforms, the now-retired oneOeight.com, which was the most successful crowdfunded yoga project of all time. That platform has since grown and transformed into yogagirl.com, a vast community of dedicated practitioners from all over the world looking to cultivate balance, create space for inner healing, and to deepen their yoga practice.
