In this episode, I’m joined by chef, author, and wellness advocate Pete Evans to talk about healing beyond the surface. Pete shares how walking away from mainstream media and diving deep into food as medicine, emotional healing, and conscious parenting transformed every area of his life. We explore the role of plant medicine, the stories our bodies hold, and why true wellness is about more than green juice and supplements. Pete’s journey is a reminder that real health starts when we stop outsourcing our intuition and start listening inward.

Pete Evans was adored by the Australian and international media when he was only sharing recipes, as most celebrity chefs are known for. It wasn’t until Pete began discussing and sharing information about long-term regenerative health (food as medicine) that the media and various industries turned on him. He was one of the first individuals to be publicly cancelled, both nationally and internationally, for speaking out about the COVID-19 pandemic. His Facebook and Instagram accounts—with a combined following of 2 million—were removed, and his podcast was taken down from Spotify. The President of the Australian Medical Association even called for Pete’s documentary The Magic Pill to be removed from Netflix, claiming it was dangerous. Since then, Pete has been the target of a sustained campaign aimed at silencing his message.

The next phase was a financial takedown. Within 48 hours, Pete was labeled a neo-Nazi by the media—a claim he unequivocally denies—and all 15 of his business partnerships were terminated. Pete has never been, and will never be, aligned with neo-Nazism or white supremacy. In fact, his extensive body of work demonstrates deep love and respect for diverse cultures around the world, which he celebrates in his 30 cookbooks and documentaries. Despite this, his books were pulled from major booksellers across Australia, along with his cookware and other affiliated products. A modern-day book burning, some might say—raising the question of whether the content Pete shares poses a threat not to public health, but to the bottom line of certain powerful industries.

A few of my favorite things we cover in this episode:

  • Pete’s evolution from celebrity chef to wellness advocate
  • His personal wake-up call that led to shifting his entire lifestyle
  • The power of real food: what Pete eats in a day and how it's changed his body and mind
  • How trauma and disconnection show up physically - and how food and breath can help
  • His experience with plant medicines and how they contributed to emotional healing
  • The difference between “healing” and simply treating symptoms
  • Conscious parenting and how it transformed his family dynamic
  • Why he stepped away from mainstream media to focus on his true mission
  • The importance of emotional regulation, breathwork, and getting back to nature
  • What inspired his documentaries The Magic Pill, The Magic Plant, and AWAKEN
