Our Current Healthy Obsessions: Snacks
As a team here in the functional medicine health center we spend long days assisting patients on their journey towards better health. We feel it necessary, not only to better support our patients but also for our own health, to practice what we preach. Having healthy snacks nearby is essential to get through the day by fueling our bodies with good food medicine. Here are our favorite snacks that we can’t get enough of this month!
Andrea Cogley – Artisan Tropic Naturally Sweet with Cinnamon Plantain Chips
Sometimes I am craving something sweet and want to have it leave me feeling full so I don’t keep snacking! Plantain chips are great for that and the cinnamon gives me that extra sweetness I am looking for. A handful of these are my favorite thing to nibble on either at work or with a cup of tea while watching a movie with my family!
Ashley Lees – Trader Joe’s Just Mango Slices
My favorite snack to have is dried mangoes. They are an amazing healthy snack to have on the go, to take to work, a snack for your kids, and they taste awesome! They are a great way to quench your sweet tooth and a great late night snack. My favorite dried mangoes are from Trader Joe’s which you can also buy on Amazon if you don’t have a store near you.

Yvette Johnstone – Chomps Snack Sticks
A quality protein source is my favorite type of pick-me-up to renew my energy and give my body the essential nutrients it needs to thrive. Chomps snack sticks are my go-to as they are 100% grass-fed beef and have no preservatives, nitrates, or added sugar or other sweeteners. I love these because I can always have them on hand at work or grab one if I am in a rush getting out the door.
Sarah Damey – DANG Coconut Chips
This is one of my favorite snacks ever. I love the lightly salted ones on their own, on salads, or on smoothie bowls. It’s great because it satisfies both my sweet and salty cravings. They have other flavors as well like Caramel Sea Salt, Original Flavor, and Chocolate Sea Salt.
