Winter is coming and you know what that means. Cold and flu season. The last thing we need in our busy day to day is a cold holding us back. So instead of getting the flu shot why not do everything we can to boost our immune systems naturally. There are plenty of awesome products these days that can help us not only get over a cold quicker but prep our immunity to stop one in it tracks before it starts. Take a look at some of the functional medicine team’s favorite immune boosting tools.

Andrea Cogley – Amazing Herbs Honey Straws

With the cold months upon us it’s super important to be thinking about your immune system and the best ways to boost it. Being stuck indoors, people being sick, traveling, etc. – there’s a reason this is the time of year we often get sick. A simple thing that I do is add some immune boosting honey to my tea! These honey straws not only have raw organic honey, but other immune boosting properties with the addition of echinacea! I throw a couple in my purse or my travel backpack for plane rides to be extra prepared – plus they taste great!

Ashley Lees – Levoit Humidifier

My favorite thing to use to help build my immune system is a humidifier. Humidifiers help purify the keep moisture in the air which in turn will help boost and protect your immune system. They are easy to set up and all you do is just keep it on in whatever room you would like. These are perfect for all ages especially using it for young kids and babies. Depending on which one you purchase they are normally very quiet and makes it perfect for sleeping and resting. My favorite humidifier is Levoit.
