With so many fantastic products out there these days sometimes it’s difficult to wade through which are really worth the hype. As a team here at Dr. Cole’s functional medicine center we love to read blogs on people’s favorite products and items they are loving. So with that being said, here is what we are currently loving for the month of February. These items are helping us get through the harsh Pittsburgh winter while pampering ourselves a bit since it is the month of love after all!
Andrea Cogley – Ancient Greek Remedy Oil
In the cold dry months I really think it’s essential to keep your skin moisturized. Since your skin is your body’s largest organ, I make sure to feed it good things that also make me feel good about how I treat my body. (And it doesn’t hurt to smell nice and have soft skin!) During the winter months my lips can get severely chapped so it is important for me to always carry chap-stick with me wherever I go. I can never go wrong with any of Burt’s Bees lip balms. With nourishing all-natural ingredients such as coconut oil, I can feel confident I am using a product that not only does what it advertises but is also free from a ton of chemicals and toxins. Sarah Damey – DoTerra Essential Oils
It’s easy to get the winter blues when it feels like spring will never come. I like using essential oils for about a million reasons, but one of my favorite uses is diffusing them in my house or work place. My favorite ones to use in the winter are Wild Orange and Peppermint. Wild Orange helps boost your mood and promotes the production of collagen in your skin, so it really is an essential (no pun intended….okay, it was a little intentional) for the winter months. Peppermint is a natural energizer and helps promote focus. Putting a drop of each of these essential oils in your palms, rubbing them together and inhaling them can help these dreary winter days feel a little brighter.
